Banglapress.com.bd বুধবার, ২৫ মে ২০১৬, ০৮:২৯ পূর্বাহ্ণ ---------------------------------- A village in Dacope after cyclone Aila সৈয়দা লায়লা আক্তার, খুলনা: আজ সেই ২৫ মে। উপকূলে আইলার আঘাতের ৭ বছর পূর্তি। ভয়ংকর আইলার দানবীয় আঘাতের ক্ষত চিহ্ন এখনও মুছেনি। এখনও স্বাভাবিক জীবনে ফিরতে পারেননি উপকূলের ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষ। ২০০৯ সালের ২৫ মে এ ঘূর্ণিঝড় আঘাত হানে দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমাঞ্চলে উপকূলে। এতে লন্ডভন্ড হয়ে যায় সবকিছু। আজ আইলা’র সপ্তম বর্ষপূর্তি। কিন্তুএখন পর্যন্ত আইলাবিদ্ধস্ত উপকূলবাসীর দিন-রাত কাটছে সেই বেড়িবাঁধের ওপর। এখনও নিশ্চিত করা যায়নি তাদের মাথাগোজার সামান্য ঠাঁই টুকুও। কয়রার উত্তর বেদকাশী, মহারাজপুর এবং দাকোপের কামারখোলা ও সুতারখালী ইউনিয়নের প্রায় সাড়ে ৩ হাজার মানুষ এখনও বেড়িবাঁধের উপরে বাস করছেন। কারণ আইলার সময় তাদের ঘরবাড়ি-জমিজমা সব বিলীন হয়। নিজস্ব কোনো জমি না থাকায় তারা সরকারের গৃহনির্মাণ তহবিলের সহায়তাও পাননি। এমনকি তাদেরকে কোনো খাস জমিও বরাদ্দ দেয়া হয়নি। আইলার পরে জরুরীভিত্তিতে যে বেড়িবাঁধ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছিলো সেগুলোও মানসম্মত উপায়ে তৈরি করা হয়নি। ইতো...

Daily Karotoa ২৫ মে, ২০১৬ ১১:৪৫:১৯ ------------------------ আজ ২৫ মে প্রলয়ঙ্করী ঘূর্ণিঝড় আইলার ৭ বছর পূর্তি। ২০০৯ সালের এই দিনে প্রলয়ঙ্করী ঘূর্ণিঝড় ও জলোচ্ছ্বাসে লণ্ডভণ্ড হয়ে যায় দক্ষিণ জনপদের উপকূলীয় অঞ্চল। এতে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয় খুলনার কয়রা ও দাকোপসহ সুন্দরবন উপকূলীয় এলাকা। দেখতে দেখতে আইলার ৭ বছর পার হচ্ছে। কিন্তু এখনও ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত অনেক পরিবার ঘুরে দাঁড়াতে পারেনি। কয়রা ও দাকোপের সাড়ে ৩ হাজার পরিবার এখনও সরকারি তহবিলের সহায়তা না পেয়ে বাঁধের ওপর বসবাস করছে। অভিশপ্ত এই দিনটির কথা মনে হলে আজও ভয়ে শিউরে ওঠেন উপকূলবাসী। কঠিন পথ পাড়ি দিয়ে দুর্যোগের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করে আজও টিকে আছে এ অঞ্চলের অসহায় মানুষ। আইলার কারণে কয়রা ও দাকোপ উপজেলার অনেক এলাকা এখনও প্রায় ফসলশূন্য। বিকল্প কর্মসংস্থানের কোনও ব্যবস্থা না থাকায় মানুষের অভাব অনটন বেড়েই চলেছে।  শুধু ঘর-বাড়ি নয়, ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মানুষেরা খাদ্য, সুপেয় পানি আর চিকিৎসা সেবাসহ নানা সমস্যায় জর্জরিত। পাউবোর আমাদীর উপ-বিভাগীয় শাখার  সাবেক কর্মকর্তা মো. আব্দুল মতিন বলেন, ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ কিছু বাঁধে মাটি দেওয়ার কাজ চলছে। তাছাড়া ভাঙন কবলি...

10 July 2010, Saturday Divisional Museum Auditorium, Khulna, Bangladesh --------------------------------- Even after more than 14 months of cyclone Aila the the affected 11 Unions of 3 Upazilas under Khulna and Satkhira Districts of Southwest Coastal Region of Bangladesh are still under water as the breached coastal embankments yet to be repaired. More than 125 thousand people are still living on the embankments while more than 87 thousand people had to become climate refugees because they lost their houses, possessions and traditional livelihoods. The areas are shifting to abandoned land as the trees and other environmental elements are degrading due to extreme saline water which remains in the localities since 25th May 2009, the date of Aila hit the areas.
